How fast can a person go on a bicycle? A team from Missouri University of Science and Technology built an aerodynamic bike to take part in a “competition” to answer the question. The event took place on a flat stretch of road outside of Battle Mountain, Nevada. This story follows the team from the building of the bike in the facilities at the university, to the finish line in Nevada. The team reached a speed of 59.34 miles per hour – the second fastest collegiate time in a human powered vehicle.
